This keyboard may not live up to expectation

The way it was sent was not ideal. The box was wrapped with two turns of bubble wrap (ends exposed) and slipped in a poly mailer (not the bubble kind). It is not sent in an air column bag like many YouTube unboxing videos would show. A corner of the box was crushed during transit and unboxing it was quite hard. As a person who uses product boxes for storing things, this felt like an unnecessary waste. Thankfully the keyboard itself was not damaged. The positives of this keyboard are a good layout, build quality feels solid, RGB lights are colorful (although they could be a lot brighter), the low-profile switches have good travel, and I am able to game with them. The major cons of this keyboard would be absolutely slow Bluetooth wakeup times and lack of software to customize keys (the page up/down, home and end keys would be perfect for setting up as macros). If you shake the keyboard the switches and keys themselves do not rattle and make sound. However, the two orange sliders that you flick to turn on/off Bluetooth and Mac/Windows mode will rattle. These two loose sliders cheapen the whole keyboard. The included dust cover is ever so slightly smaller than the footprint of the keys so every time I place it on the keyboard it will hit the light effect key and change the lighting setting which over time became extremely annoying. Unless budget is a factor there are better keyboards in this form factor that provide a better software and hardware experience. Maybe wait for a K3 Pro version with QMK support.

Beautiful and confortable keyboard with ghost clicks

I got my K3v2 a week ago and I'm enjoying it so far. It has a nice touch and typing, a premium build, and some nice LED effects (that I almost don't use to save battery). I got the RED switches which I liked a lot.
My only complaints are about some ghost clicks if I just place my finger on top of the key without clicking, maybe because I got the optical one. I regret not getting the mechanical option.
Another detail that doesn't bother me but could be better, is the small light to show the low battery could be at the front so I can see.
I have disabled the auto-sleep function because it just doesn't work to wake up, sometimes it connects again after a few seconds and sometimes I need to go to my device and connect again manually, so I disabled. It could be nice to have some shortcuts to force the wake-up and connect or force the turn-off/sleep when I'm going away from the PC (not the physical turn-off button).
Overall I'm satisfied and I'll probably use my K3 for a long time until I replace. I recommend, but go with the mechanical.

Nice Keyboard

It takes sometime to get used too if you’re shifting from non mechanical keyboard. One thing that bothered me is the Palm Rest. The one I ordered had wobble in it.

SUITABLE FOR ALL DEVICES

Keychron K3 ultra_slim Hot_swappable wireless mechanical keyboard Mac Windows iOS Android Keychron low profile Optical and Gateron low profile mechanical switch alternative keycaps

Compatible for both macOS and Windows. Keychron is one of only a few in the market that comes with a Mac multimedia keys layout for Mac enthusiasts (Check high-res keycap layout and size here). For Linux users, we also have a dedicated user group to help with the experience.

Two level adjustable rubber feet makes the new K3 more comfortable to type on.

HOT-SWAPPABLE

We all have our unique typing preferences, that’s why we went the extra mile to make the K3 the world's first hot-swappable low profile Optical switch keyboard. We’ve implemented a MX-styled stem and stabilizers, and conducted numerous design iterations of the keyboard structure.

You can easily hot-swap every Optical switch in a few seconds to customize your typing experience on the K3 without soldering. *Hot-swappable feature is available for low profile Keychron Optical switch version only.

MECHANICAL OR OPTICAL?

We’ve overcome different technical challenges to redesign both the low profile Gateron Mechanical switch and low profile Keychron Optical switch in order to elevate the typing experience while enhancing its reliability on the ultra-slim keyboard.

Mechanical Switch

Durable low profile Gateron Mechanical switch with a 50 million keystroke lifespan to provide an unrivaled tactile responsiveness

Optical Switch

With the MX-styled stem housing and 0.2ms ultra-low latency, the low profile Keychron Optical switches are crafted for typists or gamers who want to type at lightning speed with a 70 million lifespan much greater than industry standards.

*Low profile Keychron Optical switch keyboard is not compatible with any conventional mx style mechanical switch.

ALTERNATIVE KEYCAPS

Keychron K3 ultra_slim Hot_swappable wireless mechanical keyboard Mac Windows iOS Android Keychron low profile Optical and Gateron low profile mechanical switch desktop setup

We’ve spent over a year developing and implementing a MX-styled stem on both the low profile switches for the K3 as well as stabilizers on the big keys like the space bar, left Shift, backspace and Enter key.

It will improve reliability, deliver better typing experiences, and may potentially pave the way for other keycap manufacturers to launch alternative keycaps.
